Driving range and practice areas

Golf d’Opio Valbonne offers an open-air driving range with some covered bays and several practice areas. This combination allows you to perfect all your strokes during a practice session, or simply warm up before your round.

The practice is open every day. Exceptionally, it will close at 6pm on Thursdays when the mowing is done.

Easy to use, the TrackMan Golf app adapts to everyone’s needs. It allows everyone to play golf in a fun and entertaining way while analyzing their game data. Here’s what TrackMan will measure for you with every shot:

• The range: the distance the ball travels in the air between impact and the first bounce
• The total distance: the total distance including bounces and ball roll
• The ball’s speed: the speed of the ball immediately after impact
• The height: the maximum height of the ball during its flight
• The launch angle: the vertical angle at which the ball leaves the ground relative to the horizon
• Your landing point vs. your target: the distance to the right or left of the line of play from where the ball lands
• The direction: the initial direction in degrees of the ball relative to the line of play
• Your gap from the flag: the distance between where the ball comes to rest and the selected target

 

The Opio Valbonne Golf driving range is open every day, continuously, during the golf course’s opening hours. Measuring 220 meters in length, the driving range has 8 covered bays and 22 uncovered bays with Wi-Fi connectivity and smartphone holders.

Open to everyone and with unlimited access, our practice areas are perfect for working on all your golf strokes. Right next to the driving range is a putting green and a practice bunker, where you can wait for your tee-off time beside the 1st hole tee box.

Why this area?

To provide a new service to our members: We want to offer our members additional facilities to enhance their experience and help them improve their game.

To improve our teaching infrastructure: This new area is designed to provide an optimal environment for lessons and training sessions, thus promoting more effective learning.

What this training area consists of:

• A 400m² putting green: A large space to practice your putting with precision.
• A bunker: A practice bunker to improve your bunker shots.
• A 540m² pitching green in the middle of an 885m² fairway: An ideal area to practice your short approach shots.
• 2 dedicated tee lines for instruction: Dedicated spaces for lessons, offering maximum flexibility for instructors.

• Primarily dedicated to training and instruction: Synthetic turf allows for easier and more consistent maintenance, ensuring optimal playing conditions year-round.
• Water resource management: Synthetic turf requires less water, which aligns with our commitment to sustainable ressource management.
• Complementary to the natural grass practice area: This new synthetic turf facility complements our natural grass practice area located below the first tee, offering a variety of options for all types of practice.
